Vincent Varco, Composer / Producer- ASCAP

Rooted in classical music, Vince has proven his skills as an extremely accomplished composer in the music and film industry. He's also known around Chicago for his hard-hitting delivery and earned the title "Best Keyboardist" by the Illinois Entertainer.

Vince grew up in Park Ridge, IL and graduated from Columbia College with a concentration in musical composition. During and after school, Vince paid his dues on the road touring with bands from Ethiopia and Ghana, and also did extensive recording with several Blues artists for Delmark Records. Though his multifarious abilities successfully adapt to any genre of music, his heart belongs to Beethoven.

He broke into broadcast television with works for Speed Channel and CMT and continues to supply lush, orchestral tracks for numerous network and cable TV shows including CBS Early Show, NBC's Access Hollywood, and Comedy Central's Emmy Award winning show The Colbert Report.

Vince scored the independent film "Silent Shame", which was featured at the International Film Festival Summit, and the National Geographic African Diaspora Film Festival. He continues to infiltrate the film industry with his recent contributions to "Dreams: The Movie", directed by Joel Kapity, featuring 5 tracks with local reggae artist Kwame Bediako and partner Kathyjo. The film was released in 2012.

Kathyjo Varco, Composer / Producer-ASCAP

Composer, singer/songwriter Kathyjo is a Chicago native and thought of as the funkier side of the BSM equation. She has the ability to step into any musical arena and bring it to life, whether it be background vocal arranging for reggae artists, to soulful acoustic blends for the mainstream market to heavy dance grooves for the club.

She acquired her degree from the University of Illinois, Champaign/ Urbana where she majored in Graphic Design. After graduating and touring with her band, Kathy broke into the field of voice-over acting while honing her artistic craft within the world of Marketing. As a songwriter, she's been attracting the attention of music producers from California to Nashville and continues the momentum with the song "Hey Eh Girl" co-written with Vince, featured in HBO's hit show HUNG and Lifetime's made-for-TV-movie Sins of the Mother.

Kathy continues to make a powerful impact in the industry with an eclectic musical sensibility and masterful use of rhythms. Her compositions were first heard on the hit series Men in Trees which soon extended to regular music placements for Discovery Channel, History Channel, Animal Planet and more recently VH1. Since starting Big Sound Music, Kathyjo's musical style continues to make appearances in well over 40 cable and network shows, currently airing in the U.S. and abroad.
